Materials for the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs go through a stricter approval process than private commissions. Period-accurate attire (the durumagi hanbok Baekbeom favored, in its era-correct color), the weight of the expression, the symbolism of the background — all reviewed and corrected through multiple rounds before final approval.
Davinci participated in the restoration of Baekbeom Kim Gu among the 87 independence activist portraits, and the results are used in memorial halls, archives, and campaign printed materials. The techniques for restoring 100+ year old black-and-white photographs into period-verified color portraits were refined in this body of work.
